In powder injection molding, finely powdered metal or ceramic is mixed with a measured amount of binder to form a raw material. The raw material can be molded as a component by injection molding, debinding and sintering. The surface structures are as smooth as if they have been polished. Complex components can therefore be produced in large quantities in a single operation for a wide variety of industries.

Challenges:
_ Final quality of the surface structure
_ Efficiently reducing the effects of volume shrinkage, warpage and black lines (uneven powder concentration) in order to achieve a high quality standard for sintered products
_ 'Black Line Phenomenon' that occurs in connection with the separation of binder and the resulting areas with low powder concentration

_ Visualization of the flow behavior of the feed material consisting of powder and binder
_ Predict possible formal errors, such as warpge or black lines
_ Evaluation of the effect of the shear rate on the powder concentration
_ Evaluation of the optimal mixing proportion of powder and binder

_ Optimize process conditions, e.g. temperature or filling speed

Registration

  • The participation fee entitles to take part in the individual event and includes the complete presentation material and all food and beverages for the respective period of time for one person. The accounting takes place directly after having registered. Cancellations up to 30 days before the event are free of charge. In case of a cancellation 2 weeks prior to the event we charge 70%; after that 100% of the participation fee.
